This program provides highly detailed educational content on Assembly Bill 2016 as it has revised the former Petition to Determine Succession to Real Property with the new Petition to Determine Succession to Primary Residence probate procedure as allowed under the California Probate Code.  The presentation also explains important considerations, debts of the decedent, income taxes of the decedent, and when best to use this procedure.  The depth of information is beyond a basic level.  Detailed knowledge of the decedent’s debts, income taxes, primary residence, intestate succession, relationships of parties, and probate processes is necessary in any decedent’s estate to know when this procedure should be used and whether it is best for any particular estate.
